Phong Nha – Ke Bang

Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is located in districts Quang Ninh, Bo Trach, Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa of Quang Binh province. It is 50km Northwest of Dong Hoi city and 500km South of Hanoi capital. The National Park has core parkland with an area of 85,754 ha, and a buffer zone of 195,000 ha. This National Park was established to protect one of the world’s two largest karst areas with 300 grottos and to preserve the North Truong Son eco-system in the Northern Central of Vietnam. The Park is characterized by limestone tectonics, 300 grottos and caves, underground rivers and the rare faunal and floral systems listed in Vietnam Red Book and World Red Book. The total length of grottos and caves is up to 80km but only 20km has been explored. The Phong Nha grotto holds the records of the longest water grotto, the highest and longest grotto entrance, the largest and most beautiful sand and stone beach; the nicest underground lake, the most superb and miraculous stalactite system, the longest underground river of Vietnam and the world’s largest and most beautiful dry/waterless grotto
